that is the differential gear, the top shaft is actually two shafts, the back side of the "slipper" is the outer shaft, which connects the right side outdrive, and the right half of the transmission. the outer side of the "slipper" is the inside shaft, which connects the left outdrive, and the left half of the transmission. the tension on the spring adjusts the amount of force needed to spin one half of the transmission at a different rate opposed to the other. so yea,.. thats ur diff :P ( the balls should be lubricated with associated diff grease )

your diff balls http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LX2760&P=7

your manual
http://www.theshreves.com/rc_stuff/manuals/associated/graphite_manual.pdf

Andys arms are the same length as the stock white ones. I think the RPM ones are too but not 100% on that. I just picked up a graphite last week with both the white and andys..

Paul, thanks.Im not sure which way i want to go on this.I tore the whole thing down and am figuring what i need. The front inner wheel bearings are stuck on the axle so i need to figure out how to get them off. I guess i am going to need the gear cover too.i ordered a battery cup but in black.do yo have any suspension pivot ball?i have a few mismatched ones.the factory tie-rods are the same as these?

take the axle out of the knuckle and soak it in some penetrating fluid. if that doesn't loosen it up, then put the nut back on the axle so it's flush with the tip. set the hexed part of the axle inside a socket or whatever you can find that the axle will pass through but the bearing will sit on top. then gently tap the axle nut to break it loose.

HI!... Just use a set of side cutters and put the flat side of the cutter away from the bearing. Just squeeze and the bearing will pop off. I do this all the time and works perfectly, with no damage. It also works good for getting stubborn pinions off the motor shaft.
