Cleaning/organizing can be good sometimes!

Post by Daddeo »

I started to do my somewhat regular hobby room clean-out/organization today. Wow, I found a lot of stuff that I totally forgot that I had bought :D! One of the first things was a RC10T that I've had a couple years now but was totally hidden from my view until today. The next thing that surprised me was a RC10T2 that really surprised me since I can't recall exactly how or when I acquired it :?...
Last but certainly not least was the best thing I have re-discovered so far......A N.I.P. A&L RC10 conversion!!! :D I plan on building this thing a.s.a.p.. It feels like Christmas to me right now .

That could be the winner of the LBBO, can it get any cheaper than "I found it"

Pretty awesome.

I am in the opposite situation. I know *exactly* what I have on hand, and none of it is quite as cool as an A&L conversion!

Thanks!
sneako43 - I would take a picture but I'm too ashamed of how it looks right now .
Synergy - Hey, that's a good idea. Might just enter it.
shirochanwrx - That's exactly what I thought too when i found it....again .

One of the reasons why I'm so excited and surprised about all of this is because I haven't done a full RC inventory in quite some time. I have a tendency for buying stuff then putting it away only to totally forget about it until I dig it out. Another cool find from this morning is a full set of Losi/RCPS center-line aluminum wheel halves for the RC10 ;).

shane - It's not so much the size of my collection but rather the way I store it ;).

mrlexan - My wife says similar things to me . I always tell my wife that it's organized chaos .

I just was at a hobby shop out of town and found a bunch of vintage Associated parts in a bin under a shelf. There was really nothing to get too excited about, but I bought everything they had for 60% off. I hope when I do a RC inventory check in the future I will come across all these parts I probably wont use and get as excited as when I found them the first time. I should get more excited because I wont have to pay for them again  .

I think if you have to do an inventory check that maybe it's time to do an intervention reality check. I hope I don't become one of the people on the TV series "Hoarders"

vintage AE - I had a reality check a few years ago that was spearheaded by my wife. Seriously, I had got real bad about "hoarding" vintage RC stuff. Fusion speed tub chassis, over 20 different RC10's, a couple Avante's, etc. and that's was just the tip of the iceberg . My collection is now a way more manageable size but up until recently I had lost interest in the RC hobby all together. Since getting back up to speed with the hobby I have decided to try and finish up my seemingly ongoing hobby room re-organization ;).

I've tried to do an inventory, but to be honest it's too much of a undertaking. Call me what you want, but if you go there, everything IS organized and not trash or in trash piles.

mrlexan - I know exactly what you mean. You go in with good intentions and a plan only to get either get side tracked by something or finally realize exactly how long it will take to catalog all the little things.

BREAKING NEWS! - After "digging" some more I found all the parts needed to build the model below :D.
Here is my entry for the low buck build off:

Overall I was in double figures on the 1/5 and trading some for others, then once I had 7 trimmed to I thought 3, I opened a big box expecting a Tamiya Terra Crusher, found a Harm SX-2, I never got the servos to work, so boxed it back up forgot all about it
