pinion question for clod'rs

Post by Mr. ED »

My buddy is building his clod from the ground up buying NIP parts from ebay etc.
Today he told me his moters aren't quite right on the gearbox: the gears don't run smooth.

Looking at the pinions he got I think he may have bought the wrong pitch. There's no mention of the pitch on the package but a gear advisory table on the rear; for among others the avante.
Am I right in thinking he got 0.5 or 0.6 module while what he really needs is 32dp?

A quick eBay search seems to confirm 32dp of 7-9 teeth.

strange: his manual says 13T (at least that's what he just told me on the phone).
I've posted him a 32DP 13T. We'll see if he can use it or not.

32 pitch 13 tooth is stock for the clod.
if he wants to run different gearing i recomend rcguy's motor mounts. they allow for everything up to 16 tooth while most others only allow for smaller pinions.

Thanks for your confirmation.
My friend's no racer and wants to keep it pretty much stock... boring I know
I tried convincing him if he's going to want to run it without damage he should get the lexan shell from parma and at least wideners; both to keep it from tipping too eaily, but, to no avail
