Old Clod 2
So I picked up a nice Clod 2 RTR it has the stock motors and an EVX2 speed control, what are the best motors to use with this ESC. I have the CPE aluminum axle shafts on the way, is there a major benefit to switching to the metal gears since it will be apart? If so how do I know what sizes to get ect... stock or something different. Thanks guys, been in R/C hibernation for 20+ years.

Looks like a nice chassis, suspension, and tire upgrade as well. Very cool Clod!

Re: Old Clod 2
That esc is capable of far more than you'd want to run in a Clod.
It says dual 12T 550 motors and up to 4S.
Team Brood offers some matched motor sets for Clods. The dual 17T's would probably be nice, even on 7.2-8.4 or 2S.

Re: Old Clod 2
That’s one killer looking Clod you have there
Yea I can attest to the fact that it’s one extremely robust esc for sure…… That’s also their single 775 motor in there.

Re: Old Clod 2
It is already wired for 2 8.4v Venom 3000 batteries, would a set of the Titan 550 motors be ok? I don't wanna race but I wanna go faster than stock.

16.8 volts? Not many motors are going to last.
Which 550 Titan? I think that the 21T's were for higher voltage, not the 12T.

I’ve got them in this truck, the cans are long. Not sure if they will clear your existing 4 link setup….

Re: Old Clod 2
Are the batteries wired in parallel for longer run time, or in series to double the voltage?

I know that the older E-Maxx 23T motors were rated for 14.4v. Unsure about the 21T's however......
EDIT: Yep! The 21T motors (as well as the Rev Rotation ones) are rated for 14v.
