After market shocks for RC-10 build?
HI!... I'm currently building a RC10 runner called Project "Black&Blue.
http://www.rc10talk.com/viewtopic.php?f=35&t=19606
I'm looking for some basically bolt-on shocks for this project. I would like to stay with AE if I can but I'm open to other manufacturers shocks. I'd like something with blue anodized shock bodies to match the theme of the car. I know AE makes some blue anodized shocks but there is so many different sizes.
Anyone who has done this type of mod already, care to chime in with some pics, and part #'s, and any mods you had to perform to get everything to work properly?
Thanks :
Neal.

for the rear, just buy a pair of 1.32 blue rear associated shocks. i saw a pair on ebay last night for $20 bin.
get a pair of b4 .89's for the front, and either deal with the extra length, or buy one of atlas's cf front towers. if you don't want cf, see if he'll make you one out of black fiberglass.

b4 shocks for front, and the 1.32" shock bodies in my post are what you need for closest replacement. best bet is ebay. I guess my post in your thread wasn't that clear then?

HI!... O.k I found the 1.32 shock kit on Ebay. Got it for $25 delivered.
Now I see on the AE site that they only sell the bodies of the 0.89 shocks. Do they offer these in a kit as well? If not will the internals of my RC10 gold front shocks fit in these?

just look for a set of b4 or b4.1 fronts on ebay. should be able to find them, although I will admit the b4 fronts are the harder ones to find compared to the rears, and t4 shocks.

HI!... But do those come with the blue anodized shock bodies? Every pic I see says no.jwscab wrote:just look for a set of b4 or b4.1 fronts on ebay. should be able to find them, although I will admit the b4 fronts are the harder ones to find compared to the rears, and t4 shocks.

HI!... O.k I can't seem to find them on the AE site? Anyone got a part #? I'd rather just buy a kit like I did for the rears.

i don't think they offer the .89 blue shocks in kit form. you'll have to find a used set on ebay or piece them together.

Re: After market shocks for RC-10 build?
HI!... Well are the 0.89 shock bodies basically the same dimensions as the stock RC10 shocks, except for the slightly longer length? What I'm getting at is can I install the guts of my current RC10 shocks into the bodies of the 0.89 ones?

Yes, but AE shock rebuild kits are cheap, and the best way to go, IMO.THE H.P FREAK wrote:HI!...
