I need a CNC resource
I need a part made. It's small, about 1" high and wide and made out of about 1/8" thick aluminum. Does anyone know of a shop I could send a sample of what I need to have a piece made? I only need the one piece, this would be a small part and a smaller order. Anyone know roughly how much it might cost? I never done anything like this before.

Re: I need a CNC resource
My Dad owns his own CNC job shop. The problem with requests like yours is that it takes time to set up a single part fixture and program it to only create one part so there's no real profit to be made on the manufacturing side. A single part job like that can be pretty expensive. The profit is made when more parts are created after the bulk of the work is already done. You could try a site like emachinshop and see how it goes. You may also want to try Chad over at DynoTech.

Re: I need a CNC resource
Hey guys, thanks for the help and thanks for all those who've sent me PMs with leads. Right now I'm working with bigjeepzz to see about having this part and now a few others made. This is gonna be a pretty cool project, my first very customized rc in a few years.

Re: I need a CNC resource
I know a kid in CNY that is doing some great stuff with his fullsize truck projects. I'm going to try to get his contact info and see if he can't help you out. This kid is very talented and a good guy too.

I was going to recommend bigjeepzz, he does great work. Seems you already got a hold of him.
