B4 rear shocks on RC10
B4 rear shocks on RC10
I searched but came up with nothing. Has anyone cut down their rear shock tower to mount B4 length rear shocks (1.08)? I see no reason why it wouldn't work.

Re: B4 rear shocks on RC10
You do not have to cut anything- they mount up just fine ( with 1.32 shafts )
Re: B4 rear shocks on RC10
That introduces the problem of crashing the piston into the cap inside the shock. If the stock suspension only needed the 1.08 shaft the it stands to reason that with the correct tower height the whole 1.08 shock would have no downiside, wouldn't it?

Re: B4 rear shocks on RC10
I mounted B4 shocks (straight off the B4) on the rear of my buggy. I didnt use longer shafts or anything...
here is a shot with weight on it, I will try to get another shot showing "droop"

Thanks for the photo. That looks like a lowered rear tower (wing tubes are high), is it the stock dimention? Also like the ce rear hubs, I considered that too to gain vertical ball stud adjustment. What is the spacer on the axle?

Re: B4 rear shocks on RC10
The losi CR rear hubs were machined deep so the axle protrudes to widen the stance (for B4 rear wheels). It also uses B4 bones, not stock.
The rear tower is from Atlas/eBay, it is a replica of the Worlds edition, it is standard height. I may not have the wing tubes pushed in all the way, or it could be the angle.
on my next build, to use 2.2's I will leave the rear alone and use the Thunder Tiger Phoenix rear wheels. this car may be swapped over to that also, but I really like the JConcepts Rulux wheels, so it may stay this way too...to many decisions, LOL.

Here's another example of one using B4 shocks, but this one uses the Dynotech arms and modified B4 hubs.

Sorry, Never did get that Digital caliper back. I guess that is what happens when you loan stuff out. The good tools never make it back.
