Re: Earliest Edinger by Original Owner out of South OC, CA
This is a great update and build. My early edinger also has those pistons in it. Well 2 of my edingers do. That is each car came with 2, and 2 pistons that were of the same clearer plastic material but with holes...Both owners must have taken 1 set out and tried diff pistons in rear..

Don't know how I missed this thread last year, but I'm glad I caught it now. That car is sweet! It's great that you held on to it all these years. Call me crazy, but I'm digging your "speed holes" on the chassis. This is a real car, not a shelf queen built from NIB pieces and I find that refreshing. I don't think I could have stripped the shocks though, even if they were in rough condition. I'm curious, do you plan to re-anodize them or are you going to put them on polished?

Re: Earliest Edinger by Original Owner out of South OC, CA
I kept the original shocks original. Still have them. I stripped an old (newer) spare set. Sorry I didn't make that clear. The originals are quite beat, and actually have some set screw holes in left over from me swapping on some aluminum collars BID because I thought they looked so much cooler (like on the box.). The other thing is that (due to the assymetrical slotted pistons) they are worn on the inside too, with the one side worn in where the piston had been driving into the wall. I won't reanodize the originals. I'll try both on the build and see which I like.MelvinsArmy wrote:Don't know how I missed this thread last year, but I'm glad I caught it now. That car is sweet! The surprise factor was all gone because I knew full well I was getting it. The weeks of waiting wore me out maybe. And I was like "I can't build open it up now and build it because why...we're going to church now?!!??scr8p wrote:you have a...... WTF?!?! I wanted a tamiya frog.... look on your face.

Holy crap! That is fantastic, thanks for sharing. Now I'm going to go back and ask my Mom if she can find any old photos of me with my RC10. I'm trying to remember if I got it for Christmas or my birthday.Y'ernat Al wrote:Look What I found! Actually my parents handed this pic over to me this thanksgiving. I'm a man of my word, so I got back to the RC Cars! RC10 #1 is coming back together...Lets just say the swiss cheese holes in the chassis were drilled by a 14 year old WITH a rather dull bit and WITHOUT a drill pressY'ernat Al wrote:Ruffy wrote:...I'm gonna paitently wait for the day when you finish putting back together your car.![]()
It'll come. I've just had other projects taking priority for while now.

Stay tuned. I'm on a roll!

Love it! What body and paint you doing?
I still don't understand why you did not smile or at least look happy in that 1984 picture? You should of had a big $h!t eating grin on your face! Like Mr Green

You turned that into a great looking car! I'd be proud to have one like that in my collection.
