Just sharing a few pictures of the Losi JRX-2 which I've been working on...

Custom delrin lower links to use regular shock ends






3mm Carbon Fiber shock towers






Lipo Tray for Saddle Packs




Battery Brace with standoffs incorporated into suspension mounts




Here's how the car looks... waiting for the liquid mask to dry on the shell.

What ball ends and turnbuckles are those? How about replacing the top trailing link with a titanium turnbuckle to match? Looks very good, I have been having some custom 5 link ideas lately and you just blew them all away.

Those lower arms are brilliant - did you machine them yourself? & what is the clearance like with the rear tyre/wheel (I presume they are 2.2")

The side mounts that combines the battery strap fixing is pure genius! Will be interested to hear how this car drives

The links were machined out of 11mm thick white delrin - essentially the shape was cut out and a channel was cut in the middle to accommodate the shock end. Then 2 holes were drilled and tapped on either end to fit Losi ball cups.



Care was taken to keep them the same length as stock so suspension geometry is retained.

Ball ends are from Losi. I've tried a variety of ball ends on my cars and so far I find the Losi ones to be the strongest. I've bent and broken turnbuckles before these give way.

The turnbuckles are of various makes - Longer ones are steel and they are from Team Magic for their E4 touring car, I believe the short one for the upper camber link in the rear is a titanium one from 3Racing.

Replacing the top link sounds like a great idea. Will go source one of the right length from the LHS tomorrow!

Thanks for the kind words. Yes I machined the lower links myself on a Sherline mill.

The car is running 2.2" tires and wheels and to do this I've re-drilled the holes for the axle pins to move them out for a proper offset.

I've also added a 2.5mm spacer where the lower link mounts to the upright to give the link a bit more clearance from the tire. Here's a pic.



Might look close but works fine - a thicker washer can be used if more clearance is required.

Thanks for all the kind replies guys - it makes all the work that went into the project even more worthwhile.

I've made an undertray for the car to preserve the chassis and also sprayed the shell (thanks Mr Lexan!)
