MIP Gurus...

Post by Jay Dub »

Well, today I re-aquired a box of old rc stuff I gave my nephews about 8 years ago. I was lucky to find the things I did, but am in need of a few parts to finish them off. First is an MIP SP-1 (I think). I found almost all of the parts rolling around in a REALLY dirty box. I only (luckily) need an idler gear, a slipper plate, and the slipper tension spring. Other than that it's complete. Question is, what type of idler gear do I need? The ohter gears are brass, and I seem to remember it was too? I also assume the slipper is going to be hard to find plates for, as I have never seen another one  . -Jeff

I've seen idler gears in steel brass and plastic so take your pick. FYI sand scorcher idler gears work.

MIP #SL-4 is the part you need for the slipper spring, washer and adjustment screw, and L-3 is the correct part for the slipper pads. I already sent you a link, and I can help you with everything you need as well!
