New body styling-
So, it's not a Turbo Mirage-
and it's not a Sidewinder-
And it's not a Proline Nissan 10t body-
So what do you think of the new styling?-

Re: New body styling-
Unrealistic.
Lets face it, some of the "normal" bodies out there are a still a strech from what they should look like (some of that of course due to the vaccum forming). But to me, those look waaayyy to outlandish. For some reason, I think of the Geico geko drapped over a chassis when I see bodies such as you posted.
Maybe I am to much of a traditionalist....

I don't mind being behind the modern times, at least we had common sense back then.

Ouh no. Not to the 2WD cars too. Mid motor cars are ugly enough, but this makes rear motor cars look as ugly too.Charlie don't surf wrote:So what do you think of the new styling?

Re: New body styling-
Is it just me, or does it look bloody ridiculous when the front wheels and shock towers are taller than the cockpit? WTF's the purpose of having pseudo-windows if the pseudo-driver can't see a damn thing in front of him?

Off road El Caminos.
Actually, that's an insult to El Caminos, I kind of like them. I think these might be the ugliest buggy and truck bodies I've ever seen.
They look like designs drawn by someone who was drunk and doesn't know how to draw.

Re: New body styling-
It looks almost to me like somebody took a normal body, turned it backwards, then stepped on it.

I hope this syle is just a fad and passes ( sooner rather than later ). Fugly doesn't describe it. Kind'a reminds me of a girl I knew, who won the 90 yard dash in an 80 yard gym.

Re: New body styling-
These new bodies are obviously meant for the new "truggly" class!

Re: New body styling-
Let me be the sole dissenting voice here. I actually did some testing between the JConcepts hi flow body and their new Punisher B4.1 body. While the Punisher series may look a little more futuristic than most (especially on this forum) would like, I can tell you there IS a difference. I am not a believer in buying something just because it’s new (I still run the B4 despite obvious access to the B4.1) but these actually do work. Is this what I thought the face of off road racing would look like when I picked up my first radio in 1984? Of course not! However; the new style of body is intended for the hardcore racers of today. Even if a modern company like JConcepts were to produce a body for the RC10 (which is a REAL possibility) I’m pretty sure it won’t be aimed at the collector but rather the racer. I may not like it, but I use them on my B4 and RC8e.

Re: New body styling-
You don't have to be a collector to know that something is ugly.
I'm curious how these are appealing to the hard core racer? Do they have better downforce than "normal" style bodies? What is the advantage?
