A little Gary McAllister appreciation

Post by THEYTOOKMYTHUMB »

As many of you have found out thru your own trials(I can tell from mentions in many posts) Gary McAllister is one of the coolest and most accessible people in the biz. A true pioneer and hero in r/c. Especially relevant in vintage due to his “old school” style. I mean this as my HIGHEST compliment! His paint and body styles are amazing!

“Pretty much everything to do with McAllister Racing is home grown by me from drawings to decal graphics to packaging to the molds for the bodies of course. All of our molds are hand carved, no machining tools or computers are involved. I won't claim the photography is totally professional, but it is mine.” -Gary

I’d say his photo skills are excellent…

He sent a few photos of his weekly racers. I especially like the sprint car.

I am always asking about older bodies, and general questions about older products he used to offer. And he is always easy to talk with and to, and the buisness is run very customer friendly.

I called them a few years ago, probably in 2003, for another Wildcat II body for my Optima Mid and was surprised to find out they still offered it. I wonder if that offer is still good? Yep, McAllister had some really great bodies in the day along with some pretty nice paintwork to show them off.

Yep, I've recently bought some bodies from Gary directly. Wonderful customer service! He even included suckers with the shipment! :D
