rc10gt restore
Well i finally scored a gt with white plastic off another forum. I have'nt got it yet but here are a couple of pictures the guy sent me.
Apparently the original owner built it and never ran it. There is not one scratch on the bottom!
I will update when i actually receive it and start the tear down. Gotta find some white arms for it now, and an original body.

Those trucks did come with those early black arms-they are the 93-94 issue to the 7035 team truck and the 2nd version of the GT-
And I have a NIP RC10GT early shell that is going to the BST soon-

a few die hards anyway...Its kinda hard to keep a following up when the owner shuts down business and doesn't come around but we're tryingjustinspeed79 wrote:I remember you too.gordondude24 wrote:Hey, i remember you from the old bayside hobby forum![]()

Oh well, the rc10gt is still my all time fave!Yup, unfortunately the forum pretty much died when Gt racing died.
But there are a few die-hards like me, Klavvy, and some others who try to keep it alive, hoping someday GT's will make a comeback. Stop in and say hi, and post some pics of your new ride.

Yes, first r/c of mine was the rc10gt and still have it. Looks good gordondude. As Charliedontsurf said these trucks came with the black arms. If you are going period correct on it keep it as is and pick his gt body up when he posts it or drop him a line. Maybe he'll sell it sooner...he only makes me wait for stuff

What was the difference between this second gen GT and a first gen GT? It's been a while since I looked at GT's!Charlie don't surf wrote:Those trucks did come with those early black arms-they are the 93-94 issue to the 7035 team truck and the 2nd version of the GT-

Re: rc10gt restore
Not really a gen thing, just like the later 7035's they stared filtering in more black parts like arms, servo posts, bellcranks etc- I guess I should have said "release"

Re: rc10gt restore
Well it showed up after i left for work so i am just now getting to check it out.
This thing is like a time capsule from 1994! Somebody built it and never ran it.
Not a single scratch on it anywhere! The engine is locked up, probably from the 16 year or so old fuel in it, and there is some rust on the screws and turnbuckles. Also, if you look closely at the throttle linkage you can probably see why it never got used.
All it needs now is a tear down and some simple green to clean it up. Don't think i did too bad for $65 shipped.
Will post up as i make progress.
John

Re: rc10gt restore
Freshly cleaned parts!
I also got the engine freed up and ordered some turnbuckles and screws today to replace the rusty ones.
I was'nt going to go the peroxide route but some of the parts were yellower than others, i just wanted to even out the tone. They look alot whiter in the picture than they really are.I also got the engine freed up and ordered some turnbuckles and screws today to replace the rusty ones.

Re: rc10gt restore
Lookin good dude.
I think you got an awesome deal for $65 shipped!
I would like to know a couple things about your truck. First, does it have a clutch spring, and second, does it have a thrust bearing in the slipper assembly or a thrust washer?
So you got it fired up, cool, are you going to run it? Please don't run that white spur gear if you are!!!! Please, please, PLEASE!!!!!
