Then again, we all need to take whatever "thatstuffinthebasement" bids auctions up to with a grain of salt. He seems to be a bit of a tool when it comes to vintage parts and the price he pays for things.

That's a great looking example of an early RC10 Monster Truck conversion! That whole movement was sponed by Tamiya's introduction of the Blackfoot. None of the big guys thought much of it at first but JG stepped up and made a conversion kit for the RC10 and Ultima. Which were basically front axles and rear adapters that mounted Blackfoot wheels to the RC10. Then Andy's made some parts and Proline, Trinity were soon making wheels for the blackfoot, so we jumped in the conversion game. Then Losi and Kyosho added wheels and tires to their current car kits and had monster trucks, JRXT from Losi - all were under the Monster Truck group. They all used the same suspension and arms as the their car kits did.
The RC10T was accually the first truck to be called a stadium truck after the Micky Thompson Stadium race sieres, it had longer suspension arms along with longer front shocks and chassis length.

For those of you that do not want to click the link, that is an alloy bell crank set for $61. Are you kidding me? Wow this stuff is getting pricey. Glad I have 2 already, I can't afford that.

I have followed a few auctions on which the "thatstuffinthebasement" guy bade, he always seems to win, whatever the price, so we don't have to consider those prices as "normal"... I bet we will soon see a really complete alloy crank going for half the price now that BIG WALLET guy has one

Almost all the alloy bell cranks I've seen in the past couple years sell in the $40 range.

Daryl, didn't the JRXT have a longer chassis and taller shocks than the Jrx2? I know the RC10T was the first with the super long arms, but I think the JRXT was the first with a specialized chassis and shocks/towers.

As I recall the first ones did not, but it may have been a group of Team trucks that I remember seeing. I do know that it was not long after that Losi had a chassis for sale that was about 1/2 inche longer, the rear suspension and front arms I'm sure were the same as the JRX2. But I'm old and forgetting things...

Does anyone know what tires would have been original fit for this kit

ANy Period correct 2.2 truck tire, we never put tires in our kits not sure if JG did or if he did which ones he included. The bigger the nobbies the more correct the tire.

i know the proline kit came with the tractagators (spelling?), but i'm not sure if the andy's kit came with tires. i seem to remember an old magazine add that had the andy's truck conversion sporting imex pin spikes.

does that ring a bell to anyone else?

ya know what, the more i think about it, i think it was a blackfoot, with an andy's body, and it had those pin spikes on it. it was painted white and blue, if i remember correctly. it might have been a sees wheel ad.
