Vintage Hobby Lobby Tornado restore help needed!!!

Post by old_rc_lover »

Does any one have a pic of the Hobby Lobby Tornado with the top off? I need to see how the linkage is set up for the break. Thanks. Here is a pic of a Tornado.

Found some info out- Hunter and Tornado- This model went by a lot of names apparently. In the United States, they were sold primarily by Hobby Lobby International. So, it's often called the Hobby Lobby Hunter and Tornado. Overseas, the Hunter was also known as the Robbe Pantera or Graupner Hunter. The Tornada also went by Prafa Tornado. I am still tracking down the manual. There is a guy that has it, waiting for reply. Got some pics. Not very good ones yet.

Here are a couple more pics of both the hunter and tornado. From these I think I can get the break linkage hooked up. Still waiting on manual.

Very nice. Mine's brand new but I need the roll cage. On ebay, there's someone selling a new driver/box cover.

Just to add to your list, the same chassis was used in the early 90's ans marketed as a truck called the Mean Mudder.

BTW, my hunter has the fiberglass chassis with the aluminum reinforcement at the rear. I first thought it was a "modification/hack job", but the box stated that it was a filerglass chassis.

I was able to complete linkage off of pics found on internet. My Tornado is done except for the body and wing. Still on the hunt for those items. Here are some pics of it. Also included one pic of my Hunter that is next up to be rebuilt.
