the graphite parts would be the difference in the xx and xxkinwald edition.the graphite parts are stonger and more rigid, the only down fall with graphite is if you are running in colder weather ,when you wreck they break easy.the graphite also changes the characteristics of the buggy. an all graphite buggy [incl. the chassis] is a little stiffer than regular xx buggy.overall though the xx kinwald and xxcr buggies with graphite are awsome buggies.

In reponse to your questions

*1 - As described above, the graphite parts are hop-up parts - they are mean't to be stiffer & maybe a bit lighter but on the downside were more brittle, the Kinwald had all the possible graphite parts, but many standard XX & XXCRs were upgraded with these parts.
*2 - The Kinwald had all the possible upgrades that Losi produced for the Losi XX CR (the CR was the later version of the XX that had revised rear suspension & front end geometry changes) The upgrades made the car a similar spec to the car Brian would have driven, these included; Full graphite (chassis, wishbones etc) Gold nitrided shock shafts, Full titanuim turnbuckles & hinge-pin set, long front camble link conversion, 'slimmed' front shock mount - but most noticable distinguishing parts were the blue springs all-round (though the rears were equivilent to 'normal' pinks) & the Kinwald-only blue anodised motor mount... oh & the Excellorator bodyshell.
*3 Here in the UK the XX only came in full bearing pro-spec with the hydradrive included (not sure if hydradrive was included for CR & KW kits?) In the US it seems you got the options of; Sport - with bushings, Sport - with bushings silver can 540 motor & mechanical speedo, & Pro kit with Teflon sealed ball races
*4 See above, only one of the sport models got a motor, the others came without motors, assuming like now, that the pro-driver would fit his/her motor of choice.

*5 This was my XX back in the day - it was upgraded to CR spec & includes Trinity parts & a lightweight motor mount that I got anodised blue, it also has the de-rigure Xcellorator shell to complete the Kinwald clone look 8)

I regrettably sold my XX Bitd, but i'm in the process of re-creating it from a NIB kit & sourcing the same upgrades of ebay etc etc

That was a beautiful car! I would have regretted letting that one go as well. What are the distinguishing characteristics of the Xcellorator body? I have an XXCR and an XXCR KE and they both appear to have the same body. Is the red one an Xcellerator as well? Sorry for crappy ebay pictures.

Yeah, they are both Xcellerator shells, it was popular to replace the original kit shell with the Xcellorator, it was much easier to mount it over the rear end. There is also a Jammin shell that looks almost identical but has an indent on the front 'bonnet'.
(Hope Brandon G doesn't mind me pinching his picture  )

The CR 'LO8042' shell is much 'squarer'

This is the original XX 'LO8008' shell

& yes I shouldn't have sold my XX - I can remember regretting it straight away even back then  I've just found a pic of it with the shell off...

& here's one of it posing alongside my RC12 with its original shell
