Repro gold shock collars?
I have a complete set of Kyosho gold shocks, but three are missing the top collars. I know that most modern shocks don't have these collars and they use spacers. I have nice black spacers that look good, but will putting these on a runner put too much pressure on the top shock cap? Are there any repro. black (or metal) collars out there? Thanks

Re: Repro gold shock collars?
FWIW, the gold tub Associated shock collars always worked on Kyosho Golds. I'll take photos of it later today, but my RC10 1987 project car uses Kyosho Golds all the way around, with Associated hardware, like I did in the 80s. It includes shock collars, spring perches, springs and bottom eyelets. Perfect fit.

I've got a set of those aluminum shock collars that I didn't end up using, because I didn't want to indent little O's into my gold shock bodies with those set screws.bdrmbully wrote:i got these for my golds and they work well but the pirches kinda bind on the a arms sometimes.

Re: Repro gold shock collars?
Here's how Associated shock parts work on the Kyosho Golds... shock shafts are 3mm, so everything bolts up perfectly, without any modification at all. This is how I ran all of my shocks back in the day, so that I could use Associated springs and hex head 4-40 screws for the adjustment collars. I need to reduce the height of the spring perches on the fronts, to get back the travel lost with the longer shock bodies of the Kyoshos.
