bear hawk suspension upgrade

Post by ricrhys »

So once again the bear hawk is out of the shed and as you can see needs a bit of tlc, im cleaning her up and fixing and poss some upgrading, i was wondering about up-rating the suspension, ive never bothered with the suspension before, what size do i need? there seems to be loads on ebay but im not sure what to get, any recommendations?

also i read about turning the front wheels toe-in about 5 degrees to help with handling, does this sound like a good idea as at the moment they are straight.

cheers
ric

this is fresh out of the shed, pure filth!

ive fixed the nose back on and sanded most of the down (any tips on the fiddly bits?) ready for a respray

I don't think there's anything made specific for this car as far as suspension upgrades are concerned.
The firstmost, and easiest to start with would be some high quality dampers. Which? Just measure yours and look for similar dimensions.

Yes pointing the front wheels a little inwards is good practise on a 2WD. It helps with straight line stability.

It's hard to tell what you have actually got there, (friction shocks?) but I would go with the tamiya CVA oil filled dampers that are on the trucks with the same chassis, ie, the Stadium Blitzer/Blitzer Beetle/Stadium Thunder. Think the part numbers are 50519 and 50520 but pays to check. Unless you want some shiny alloy ones.
