XX CR suspension update?
XX CR suspension update?
Just came across a XX CR suspension update for the XX. Just wondering what it is? Looks like different front spindles, and rear hubs, maybe different rear A arms? You guys think it's a good update for my XX?

Re: XX CR suspension update?
The Original XX comes with 3.5° of Toe In per side.
A set of tuning hubs offered 2.5°.
The inner arm mount fit 4° of antisquat and one tuning part offer 2°.
The problem with the XX, the under steering.
That's why Team Losi update the XX to the CR.
They replaced the outer toe in per a new inner plate and an extra arm mount offering 3° of Toe In and 2° or 0° of antisquat.
To fit it they made a new set of 0° hubs.
To complete it, a lot of guy's drilled an extra outer hole on the XX original arms, so Losi made a new set of arms, including this outer shock position.
But also, with inner Toe in, you reduce the wheel base, the new arm corrected this reduction of wheel base.
To complete the set, the original XX offered 30° of front caster, a lot of guy's used the tuning 25° caster blocks, again to increase steering.
That's why they add it also in the XXCR updating kit.
Hope this help...

Re: XX CR suspension update?
I have two rear CR cconversion kits I was going to sell but now I know what they are I may install.
I was not really into XX or should I say knew little about it as it came out after my prime years so to speak. Until I recently completed rebuilding one and test driving I really like it. It is not far off my new RC=104.1 which says a lot.

So it looks like a good upgrade, the only downside is spares... if something brakes, it might be hard to get replacements. Unless Losi sill makes them.

The first edition of the XXX shared the same rear wishbones, hubs & central mounting plate IIRC as the DoubleX CRDHC6 wrote:So it looks like a good upgrade, the only downside is spares... if something brakes, it might be hard to get replacements. Unless Losi sill makes them.
