Experience is that marvelous thing that enables you to recognize a mistake when you make it again.
wow, that TopCat has never been run it seems, did you get it for a good price? VERY nice find dude That was my second car as a kid, gotta love it (even if it's crap compared to a good old 10 )

the RC10 was not that great at all , only in the hands off TEAM drivers at the time , which still are one off the best drivers in world.

Thanks for the comments guys, I will post some more pictures of it when it arrives (it's coming home from Canada ) I think I paid the right price for it, anyone who is seriously looking for one of these knows how rare they are especially in this condition with all the bits (box, stickers, new shell etc.) so I think it was a great find and I have jeroen206 to thank for that as he pointed me in it's direction
As for what was best (RC10/ JRX2/ TopCat/ Ultima) for me it doesn't really matter they're all rc history and they all made a difference one way or another

then how was the TopCat back then? Only running good in super-expert drivers from outer space

When I was asking around back in the days why nobody ran Shum in our club, they told me the Shumies were real good, but too fragile.
You needed lots of spare parts they said and availbility was real poor around where we lived.
Tamiya and kyosho was all you could find, but then one guy started getting stuff in from Holland and got everybody (well except for me) on Asso. I think he made a nice little extra on the side for years.
was the top cat the one with the belt drive transmission? somebody used to run one at our track years ago and dominated the stock class. we were not alowed to run belt drives unless it came with the kit originally, the next thing ya know everybody had them. wich models came with belt drives i cant remember, i know theymade a truck with one too.
Just purchased a topcat but it needs a few parts What is the best alternative to the original crash back front suspension bands as it currently doesnt have one ?Any help appreciated

TBG does, but I don't see any right now. I am actually mounting one up right now, I stupidly cut the front arches on the side wrong but it will look OK when I am done.
Been looking for a nice Topcat for a while, and couldn't resist. Composite Craft chassis.
All is new with exception of the wheels and front tires. Polished Kyosho gold shocks.
Question to the Schuey guys here, what...

Im glad everyone likes this example of what I consider to be one of Schumacher's sweetest looking buggies. While the design left it behind on the race track back in the day the guys who designed it were definately looking to turn heads (and I...
I am working on a mid motor Topcat project I have nicknamed Topcat X . I have cut the chassis from aluminium and am currently in the mock up stage. Some things I am playing with are connecting the front rockers with turnbuckle links, new...

While browsing tamyaclub, I encountered this:
It is hard to say anything sure about the rear toe-in, but the rear wheels seem to point straight enough :) The rear end seems to be somewhat fragile and unstable. Perhaps an top deck is needed for...
Recent aquisitions to undergo refurb. Pictured as I received them, the cougar looks like it has been well used but looked after, the topcat looks like it has seen a lot less use but is definitely in need of some love.
I have already stripped the...

Topcat undergone its first wash, it was really dirty. Looked like a spider had taken residence in the front bulkhead. Chassis had a quick go over with some brasso but still needs more work to get it properly cleaned up. Not sure on the front end...
i am currently looking for any vintage paint templates or vintage pics of pro driver's paint schemes for schumacher topcats. Any input appreciated !

I wish!! Ant is too busy with his new company and hasnt had the time to make any more repro shells of late. I'll keep you posted should he start again.
I've been hunting for the right Topcat for ages and finally found one :D I wasn't really looking for one in great condition as they tend to go for a high price in good condition, plus there's something about the restoration that i really love....

I have a Tekin 410K which is too late, a Nosram F1 a Futaba 210 and a Speedmaster Silverstar. The Silverstar would be more period correct, but it's just the look of them i don't like...
