Re: introduction + JRx pro
Yup... silver shocks - but for the Pro they should have the wider shock collers (the clamp) like those fitted on the front shocks. The thin type as used on the JRX2 would split if over-tightened.... incidentally I'm looking for a couple of these for my X2 build. Also do you have the RPM arms fitted on the back? My Pro has these wishbones & the shocks are angled back like they do on your car?
Car looks super fresh by the way... show us pics when its fully finished & you get the shell sprayed.

Thanks, I have another pair of silver shocks with proper collars I will install. I thought I read somewhere that the black shock bodys are aftermarket? any truth to that ??

Re: introduction + JRx pro
There are aftermarket black shock bodies made by mip. The tops of the bodies are different, and the anodizing is a very deep black. I don't have any comparison pics of them presently.slapshot1979 wrote:Thanks, I have another pair of silver shocks with proper collars I will install. Re: introduction + JRx pro
hello slapshot...welcome!!!
It looks like you have a very good example of a jrx pro and it should clean up nicely. As everyone stated, the silver shocks belong on the front...but it looks like you may have the wrong length on the rears. The silver shocks came in 3 lengths:
short - used on the front of the jrx2
medium - used on the rear of the jrx2, front of the jrx pro, and front and rear of the jrxt.
long - used on the rear of the jrx pro
You may want to check the lengths of all 4 shocks to make sure that you have the correct size fitted on the car.
In addition, your car has the bumper from the jrx2 (losi aftermarket...never included in any kit)...which mounts above the chassis. The pro has the version that mount below the chassis. Lastly, the pro has the red antena mount.
You have the chassis with the fiberglass in the middle. I beleive this was included in the early versions of the car. I had one that came with a jrxt kit that I purchased new. The jrx proformance kit (which came later) came with a solid black chassis.
Good luck on the restoration.

highwayracer
