Just wondering if the T2 tranny would fit into a 10T, i noticed they are different part numbers.

Either

or

Bolts right in, uses all the stock parts, gives the same ratio as the T2 tranny.

Any more pics of this.I'ld love to see the way it worked out if you have any.If I understand right...you're cutting a panel out so the bottom of the gear case will sit in it and the mounts will then sit flat on the chassis.Correct??I believe they use the same system on the new 'snapping' SC 10's (no disrespect to anyone...I own one!!)I'm kinda toying with the idea of mounting the new 'brushless' friendly trans into an old tub but don't want to do any cutting.I'm thinking of an alloy mounting plate so you could enjoy the durability and be able to return to vintage at will.I just hate making permanant changes!Any advice would be great.

Re: T2 tranny into 10T??
I didn't do it myself, those were just pictures to represent cutting a square hole in a sheet, which is what you'd have to do to the stock chassis. I just picked up a used T2 chassis, and I was surprised just how similar it was to the 10T. The only real differences are the tranny and rear bulkhead, and the chassis which is a different shape, but the suspension components are all the same.
Honestly I wouldn't even bother running a T2 tranny. The only difference between it and the stock transmission is the size of the differential gear, and you can get the same ratio without having to modify the chassis using the RPM kit. The one thing that might make a difference with brushless is using the SC10 slipper clutch, which you can use in a stock 2.25 Stealth. If you look at the gearing guide in your SC10 manual (I have one too, fit of the parts in the rear end stinks), you can probably get a similar ratio using a large spur gear than the recommended 75 tooth.

Re: T2 tranny into 10T??
I don't plan on dropping a T2 in an old RC but would like to drop a modern SC10 tranny into one.The pics you posted showed what is pretty much the same mod needed to convert a modern tranny to an old tub so I thought I'ld dig a little more.It would be cut out the square panel (out of question) or make an adapter plate.Gives me something to think about.
