My Vintage Box Art RC10 replicas

I painted a new body for a gold tube runner (Gold Tub Runner), but it now may turn into my v2 body version as I spent alot of time trying to get that color mixed right, as well as highly based upon comments from fellow members here that I feel might be right in my being insane to run a body with cut-out windows. I'll have to paint another one before this weekend then, but with windows.
Here she is next to my v1 body.




Heatsinks are done now too for my boxter! Apologies for the bad photo, taken with my iphone 3GS.

Chassis came back from anodizing after welding of the holes in the noseplate and motorplate like the box cover art shows, all thanks go to JHarris and my welding team here at work!

Showing the 7-cell battery pack, 3-wire Novak with machined heatsinks (hand made), AE power connectors, fiberglass battery straps (hand made), Airtronics equipment, and I have the Goodyear tires on with the "Goodyear" facing outward. I still have to machine the AE in the noseplate lightly to show-up as aluminum.

I still have to paint the new body, sticker it, make new fog lights, use the original window net in the new body (finally acquired it!), mill the AE in the front nose to show up silver, weather the bottom shock spring retainers so that they aren't so white ( a little red clay maybe ), cut and polish nose brace tubes, cut the front shock lower retention pin, round off the back chassis edges, figure out antenna mount. I know there's more, so the list goes on and on. My version of this Boxter Replica may never be truly finished, but I am enjoying this journey for sure.
Once the car is as close as I can possibly get it, then the last part is to recreate the box cover shot! That should prove challenging.

Thanks scr8p and m_vice, I have added that to my to-do list of things that are possible to do. No idea on the antenna mount yet, or if I will even put an antenna in it due to not knowing what that is; looks like some unique antenna mount from back then, but it dates back to before my racing days.

Based upon my research into trying to acquire an image that we can post here, for posterity reasons, of the wing from the original box art car that Associated no longer has; I had sent an email to Futaba's main distributor here in the USA to see if they had the proof of that ad or any image of that old Futaba ad that showed the top of the wing in its' entirety for us to replicate. Unfortunately today I received the bad news I disclose here below. No need to contact AE as we all know they do not know the where-abouts of that wing.

We cannot help you with your request. In 1984 we were not the exclusive
distributor for Futaba R/C products for this hemisphere as we are today. Back
then, Futaba was distributed by Futaba USA to many different accounts throughout
North, Central and South America. If you note the address in the ad, you will
see where they were located then. That office was closed when Futaba transferred
the exclusive distributorship to us more than ten years ago. Thus they were the
creator of the ad in 1984 that you are asking about, not us. I am sure that any
of those ad materials are long gone after they closed their office in
California.

Further, we cannot come up with a picture of the R/C car you are asking about
because it is not one of our products. My suggestion to you is to contact the
manufacturer, Associated, who is still in business and ask them for a picture of
the car with the wing. Their E-mail site is:
