What would be an apprpriate vintage battery for a JRX2? Like an old reedy would be for an RC10. Not for a runner, just a shelfer.

losi "prime time" sanyos of course!
I've not found any of those myself, so I just use 1200 and 1400 sanyo packs, either unlabeled, trinity, PTI, or any of the era matchers.

Trinity Pushed cells, for a JRX2 I think only SCE's or SCR's were out then.
