Can you ask Curtis if he could take a closeup picture of the car under the hood to know the part numbers for the servo, receiver and if he could let us know which speed control that was. We know it is a Novak ESC, but which one.

It's this one (no number on it, 3 tuning pots for brake, neutral and speed, bulky aluminum heatsink, no screws to assemble the two case halves, just black tape, and only 3 wires exiting the case).

I'm afraid the box art chassis was lost or stolen at some point and that only thing remaining is the "hood". I would also be very interest in knowing the correct Airtronics ref. number for the receiver, as well as the (Futaba???) servo.

I zoomed into the box art side picture and it does look like you might have a winner Asso-man, but is it just an early Novak 1 (one for the 1st ones they sold?) ?

oh and it is definitely different from a 1 mainly because of the differences I mentionned above and the electronic board circuit is also slightly different since there's one more pot on the 'solid state' and one wire less... Before finding it, I found and bought these ones below and thought I had a winner with the one on the top of the pic, especially looking at the raw aluminium color of the heatsink on the blurry evilpay picture the seller was displaying. I think (key word here) that it is a version just in between the very first one (box art one) and the Novak 1. Maybe one day a Novak guru will pop in here aand enlighten us? To be continued....

was there ever any plan for associated to release an rc10t that was based off the standard rc10? by that i mean..... taking a complete buggy kit, but adding truck rims/tires, and whatever body mounts that would've been needed to mount an included truck body.

i know there was alot of aftermarket support to create such a truck, so maybe it just wouldn't have worth it?

It was important for Associated to release a truly race-ready, competitive truck. Changing a body and slapping on different wheels was not enough. ROAR truck specs were also different than buggy specs. Associated wants to maximize the performance all it can while staying within the bounds of the rules, such as widening the stance of the 10T to the maximum width allowed. The larger tires and large body caused other chassis changes. Competition-ready is key. Our team wants to win races!

I have seen a lot of questions on the original RC10 tub cars but what prompted the decision to go to a Graphite/carbon fiber chassis. That was my first car and I ended up switching to a tub chassis because it seemed to handle better than the CF chassis..in my opinion.

I would like to ask please, what was the release date in USA for the original RC10 gold pan Off Road buggy? As I can't seem to find an accurate date anywhere on the web?
