Oh my (Big can of WORMS)
Stadium trucks and short course trucks are more or less based on the same type of 1:1 racers
I think that both are great trucks and can be fun to drive and race
Regarding witch is better ???
That depends on your driving style and what you feel is more competitive for the specific class
One way to find out is to go to your local track and see what they race there
and maybe ask one of the drivers if you could try there car for a few laps to see how you like that model
Some will say "NO" but others are very helpful and will let you try there car
and answer your questions
My personal choice:
Bashing
Traxxas Rustler
Traxxas Slash
Racing
AE RC10T4
AE SC10

Well some guys can smash a Slash in an afternoon,A better question would be is the rc10t4.1 durable enough to smash around

and others can race, bash and mistreat a RC10 for years with out any major breakage

Here is my Traxxas TORC offroad race truck. One of my other drugs of choice

Body off pic

Body on pic but it has a different paint job for next year

This is what happens when the throttle sticks wide open on one of the biggest jumps on the track. Stuffed the left front into a hillside just off track. Luckly the shocks didn't get hurt. That could of been spendy if that heppened!

Thanks!markt311 wrote:Gotta love I-beams, cool race truck.
Yea, I love I beam trucks too but when they say don't heat or bend them believe them! its actually printed/molded into the arms. I have one of my shock mounts welded to the beam and have been finding that the heat from welding really weakens them. I thought they were bullet proof but I guess not! Although they were never designed for this abuse, im on my third set both sides. One of my projects is changing the shock location,

Re: My Vintage RC10 Buggy Resto Almost Complete
Nice work! The class I race in is SRT Stock so we are limited by the suspension mods we can do. We are limited to 12"s of travel front and rear. We have way more than that so we have to strap it down. We can run 4, 2" shocks/wheel with a res or 1, 3" shock /wheel with res. Im going to switch my front over to the 3" to clean up the motor bay a bit. WE can't use coilovers
and we can't do a 4 link in the rear like yours. We run leaf springs with wrap up bars. It jumps and handles really well. Id like it to steer a bunch easier but I think I have that figured out. Only real problems we have are bending the I beams which should be solved by going to the single front shock and over heating problems. Can't seem to get enough air through the radiator.
