Re: If Toyota's troubles aren't bad enough right now..
LOL!!!!!
Still, even with all the bad press, I'd buy a Toy over most of the competition. As I've already said, when I bought my '02 GMC, I had started out at the Toy dealership, but the Taco's were too cramped and uncomfortable and the T-100's weren't any better. When I could have a fully loaded GMC Sierra for only a couple grand more, it was no competition, I bought the GMC.
I used to like the Nissan's before they went on this "hard body" kick and destroyed the styling of the truck. Now, it's just starting to look slightly better than an aerodynamic brick which is a huge leap from the serious brick that the "hard body" trucks had.

I dig the Tacoma,
I helped my nephew with making a deal on a new one just last week.
They're great for a single guy with a dog or a younger couple, but not quite roomy enough for a small family.
I wouldn't turn one down for a second vehicle though.

Re: If Toyota's troubles aren't bad enough right now..
My first truck was a used '80 Toy (bought it in '87 ). Back then they weren't called Taco's. Mine was rated at 1 ton and to be honest it carried way more than that on more than one occasion. As a matter of fact, I recall stuffing 30 bags of 80 pound concrete in there. That was on top of the bed cap and tools that permanently lived in there as well. The concrete alone weighed out to 2400 pound, I guesstimate that the tools and cap were another 750 pounds easy. Do the math ... Just a little over the 1 ton rating!Diggley wrote:I dig the Tacoma,
