LTO Buggy Of Doom

Post by LTO_Dave »

Here's the latest project I've completed. It was inspired by the iconic Lake Whippoorwill Speedway that I could only read about in the magazines in the early 90's. Here's a list of the parts I used:

- BME Patriot II offset chassis & nose
- Custom chassis braces/nose tubes powdercoated flat black
- TrackMaster graphite X Caliber direct-drive tranny
- Custom Scale Components universals
- McAllister lowering kit
- RPM rear arms
- Tecnacraft titanium turnbuckles
- Hot Trick polished steering arms
- AE NTC3 shocks
- BSR Featherlite caps with Paragon AeroDiscs
- Team Cobra & Bolink on-road wheel adapters
- AE Viper body cut to fit around the suspension
- Twinn-K carbon fiber airfoil with Bud's deck mounting kit

This is just my interpretation of what a buggy built for concrete ovals would look like. I remember seeing a 10T in a magazine years ago that had an on-board camera and drove around a concrete oval beside the pancars and filmed them.

I also have some narrow Bolink foams for it that would make it good for carpet ovals. It will probably never see a track, though.

I try to make my builds as unique as possible, while keeping the essence of the RC10.

wow, if that thing had standard diameter buggy wheels on it you could drive it upside down or right side up without a body like thoes tyco rollover cars. imagine a whole field of thoes you wouldn't even need turn marshals during a race.
