That is a really beautiful car
And the fact that there is no stamp on the chassis
indicates that it IS one of the first RC10's

A close up of the viper arm and motor wiring may help solve that mystery
But it sounds like you need to switch the servo direction on the radio or switch the wires on the motor

the year???

Post by drillNink »

i talked to my dad and doesnt excatly remember when but he wnat to say 80 81 was when he bought it...him n his buddy bought em when the first came out...his buddy went on to race em and tried to get my dad to join him but pops never did as u can tell by the condition of the car he hardly even drove it...the race letter from 84 was givin to him later by his buddy to try to get him to go...i jus took every lil part off and cleaned it up from head to toe...i knew i had a ok car but never would of thought it was a collectible...im very thankful for everone suggestions and thankful i found this site ive learned so much...i wasnt gunna wreck the car but i did wanna upgrade it to keep up w the new stuff...wich woulda wrecked it adventually lol...but now i kno what i have so i dont wanna do a thing to it but clean it n put in bak together and take some pics for u guys to see closer n detail...everythings clean as i can get it i jus need to put bak together the rear end and electronics i should have it finished and posting pics by tomarrow...cant wait to hear what u guys have to say...once again ty very much and again from what i kno it is the first year it came out when it was bought and my dads buddy insisted on spending 50 buck on the steel bearing upfront...he said man u gotta get these u gotta have the racers edge lol i dont have the original plastic bearings only the steel...hpe that doesnt decrease the value...also i dont have the battery clips or the lil ball end screws to fi the front arms to secure the anti roll bar...once i get it put bak together all clean ima buy the missing parts

I didn't see that . My early rc10 has the stamp on the bottom.

He would have bought it not in '80-81 but closer to '84 as Roger Curtis started designing the car in '83

In this 1984 video Roger Curtis talks abut his own RC10 and the production RC10
