nicad vs NiMH

Post by clayboy »

Can anybody explain the pros and cons/differences of Nimh and nicad. Can both batteries be charged using a Protec 702 charger? What would be best for running around the backyard (no racing)? Also, what mAh and volts would you recomended for putting around? Bang for the buck is my main objective.

Forget nicds, the runtime on a modern motor is so short, and nimhs are very reasonable with the advent of lipo taking the racing scene by storm, a good nimh 3700 or 4300 will run maybe 20 minutes in a fast motored 1/10 bashing about.

unfortunately the Portech 702 is nicd only, so you would need a charger, maybe consider going the Imax B6 and a couple of lipo route, in the long run so much better. There is a thread in here about them somewhere recently.
