In 1987 higher end bikes started being equipped with Dia Compe 990's on the rear. Those brakes were a huge improvement over the old caliper style. So much so that that style is still the standard today on freestyle bikes.

It amazes me that you know so much about all the old BMX/FREESTYLE stuff M.A.
Its freaking cool though and that Haro looks damn awesome!
The Peregrine bars are indeed the very same i had and still look as cool as I remember. Thankyou for helping me retrace old memories yet again.
My Haro was also the standard white and even back then it seemed a little retro. I didnt have the twin top bar though, mine had the single bar coming from the front and forked into a round section returning back past the seat pole section. When i got the frame and forks they were less the original decals for some reason. It was not repainted but someone removed the decals.(hence not being certain what model i owned).
I peiced this thing together over time and started with a set of black skyway tuffs (atleast i thought they were Skyway). It wasn't long before I was introuced to a set of very sweet ARAYA 48 spoke 'chrome plated' spoke wheels and these went on in a real hurry. The braking/holding action was brilliant for flatland tricks. I have photo's somewhere of my barhops, tailwhips, 360's and other tricks at my parents someplace.
A few of my mates also got into the freestyle, park and street riding and we would catch the train into the city and make our way to the big skate verts at Bondi (back when they were rediculously enormous) or ride the promenade across the beach. We used to have a ball riding skate bowls, Mexican Hats, skate ramps and just improvising on what ever street scape stuff we came across.
It wasn't long before we came across a group of pro flatlanders and vert riders in the city. We'd learn tricks and scrape bark all the time -LOL!

The good old days

Sounds like you might have had a Haro Sport. The Sport and the Master (pictured with the twin top tubes) were the top of the line Haros. Then there was the FST and FSX, which also had single top tubes, you might have had one of those too. Since your bike was white, it was likely an 84, 85 or 86 model.

Best place to find one is probably ebay. That is probably around a thousand dollar bike in the last link I posted, but I'd bet the owner would ask for more. I wouldn't spend that on it though with those ugly green cranks, Peregrine never made green cranks. BMXmuseum, where that bike is posted also has a good sale section that is always turning over new stuff, but you have to be careful there. To say it nicely, a lot of people there don't know their bmx history and throw a bunch of crap together, give it a fresh coat of powder and chrome and think they have the coolest bike ever. Then, when they get tired of it, they put it up for sale for a premium price. You can find deals there though, if you know what you're looking for. Search ebay for Haro Sport, Haro Master or Haro Freestyler.

I just realized I haven't posted any photos of my white JMC 24. I finished it last summer, but a few weeks ago I made a few small changes, now it's really "done". Rides like a dream, hands down the best bike I've ever owned.

Thanks heaps. I followed that link on that Haro and saw the same guy has a GT also. The GT has a set of white front fork stands that fold up and down, I had a set of these same units on my front forks but mine were chrome. I wouldn't say they were top of the line but because my front forks never had any holes to thread in front pegs these clamp on jobbies worked well enough.

Here's my only bike that I own now. Still Haro though and I paid around $1400aud new at the bike shop for this one.

The vintage BMX Freestyle stuff could get real addictive- LOL! Ive done a little searching around through ebay and found a well used and incomplete identical frame that i used to have. This is the model i used to own.

If I didnt weigh 90kg I would be very tempted to buy another bike like this only this time it would be the Haro Master with some sweet Skyway tuffs.

Cool mtb. Yep, that is a Haro Sport. Oh yeah, the vintage bmx stuff can get super addictive. And, it makes this vintage r/c stuff look like small change.

Yeah the mtb is ok. A little heavy for my liking (or is that just me?) I dont mind hiting the trails with the mtb but I dont ride it enough. Its still on ints original tyres and nothing has been done to the bike-still as i bought it.

Is it just me or are there others who just dont dig the new style BMX/freestyle bikes of today? The old flatland and BMX bikes lookes uber cool with the plastic tuffs and pastel colours etc. Yeah I'd love the Master or even a Skyway Street Beat.

Ive been surfing Youtube checking out some old skool freestyle stuff and just came across Ron Wilkerson. Man that guy goes way back. I remembered the name instantly and just remembered he had a frame set of his own back in the day. From memory it had extra pipework in the frame unlike anything else of its day. It was all chrome I think.

Jesus what a time warp!

Awesome. I remember the PK Ripper. It was super light weight.
My first BMX was a Mongoose. It was a type of chrome finish and had the special welding throughout. Kind of like a V pattern in it.

Oof, that's brutal. JMC is to bmx what Lamborghini is to cars. Rare, exclusive, better design and just a better product than anything else on the market. And, much more practical than any other exotic.
