Dang. Simple Green did that...
Next time I go back to the RC shop I will look threw there shock ben.
That is were I found my set of shocks for my Pro-110.

Got some mixed results. The shocks bodies look good and 3 of the caps but the rest did not work as well. I ended up fixing the 4th cap but the bottom parts never go de-anodize ( i sued easy-off the first time and grease lightning the second). So I grabbed the dremel and the steel brush and no more black but the surface of the alum looks to be a different material.
I think it will work our OK. But I would prefer a new set; once I put them together we will see.

I have not yet gone to the hobby store. Scotch bright works excellent on aluminum. should take out the scratches from the dremel and wire brush.

Sorry forgot to mention to use plenty of WD-40 or light oil with scotch bright. Will help it work better and faster.

Not bad. But they look like cat aluminum. I like the finish on the bodies but not so much on the bottom parts.
I am going o build and see how they look.

Hey old_rc_lover, do you think WD-40 and scotch bright can make them better?
I used some fine steel wool on them to get them to this point.

I have a pro 110 and a stage 2. They are some of my all time favorites.
Looks like you have a decent example to start with I'm sure the shocks will look just fine when your done.

The scotch bright will give it that dull aluminum look. IF you really want them to stand out use some polishing compound on them with a buffing wheel. It will make the aluminum look like chrome..
The roll bar is aluminum that I polished. Looks just like I had it chromed.

I am always looking to see if i can find any info on these cars on a race. It looks like they came out looking to be a good contender for the off-road seen but never made it o a mayor race.

I like the aluminum look I have now, NO CHROME.
I will post some pics soon, I left the spring clamps black because the black did not get damage but I am not sure how they will look. I am thinking they will look cool because the car is all black.

These shock are a pain in the a$$ to build . Do you really need the inside spring?
And if you are going to shelf it and you know the shocks are going to leak anyway do you fill them with oil?
suggestions please.

for a shelfer just use some green slime on the o-rings and moving parts and dont fill em

Some update pics on the build. I actually kind of like it better with silver shocks. I will probable finish the roller tonight and post some more pics this week.

Actually does look good. The silver shocks match the rims very well. Nice job.
