is it me or is it just such an oldie that the original stealth is not as quiet as the my newer b4's?.everything on it has been rebuild and ive checked everything it s not the diff too lose etc....no binding.
Nothing old is nearly as efficient as the new stuff. Not even the chain or belt drives.
A lot of dirt oval guys still run the old Stealth gearboxes, and will replace the internal gears with 64p Thorp versions, or narrowed stock 48p gears, and really work on the friction in them until they spin effortlessly. Great tranny, but the new Losi and Associated gearboxes are as efficient as direct drive diffs.
when i raced dirt oval, i used to spend a lot of time with my trannies. you could blow lightly on the spur, and it would spin. friction is not your friend. it's really all in the bearings.
I'm new to the forum. Thanks in advance for the help. My 9 year old has gained interest in RC hobbies, so I busted out my RC10 from when I was a kid and am working on taking it apart and rebuilding. It's a gold tub with a Stealth...

Finally, a popular modification on this specific car were the long front shock towers (following the long shock modification pioneered by Masami on his 1989 IFMAR winning prototype buggy).
Hi again :)
I don´t know if this belongs here but I´ll take the chance:
This is a Kyosho Scorpion with a RC10-tranny. A friend here in germany inspired me and this runs so smooth, thx to the stealth-tranny and combined with the Scorpion-front,...
So I'm just wondering what your opinions are on making the outdrives and the differential one solid unit in the stealth transmission. So just one piece. There wont be a differential but just a gear with outdrives.
This would be done with all the...

i recommend you also replace the shocks with turnbuckles...

There was an RCCA project that did that to an RC10 too. ;)
I posted a mid setup with short shocks on the rear, turnbuckles and sway bar up front.

so, did i do it right this time?
you know, the little hissy fits you throw everytime someone says something you don't like is getting kinda old. i'll be the first to admit that you were right, though. i took my time on this one, and didn't need to...
I have been collecting parts for a gold pan resto (shelf queen) and would like to put a stealth tranny in it. I have the goldpan car, and the stealth tranny is on its way. Does someone make a template to drill a 6 gear chassis for a stealth? Will I...
