Purple 10T
Purple 10T
I just got this beauty from jdensison75 in a trade, thanks Joel! This truck was obviously someone's baby and if I had to guess I'd say it's been run very little if at all. I assume that the anodizing was also done by the previous owner. The truck is a bit dirty from sitting and the wheels need a good polish. Other than that the only real flaw I can find is that someone cut a neat, tiny hole in the tub for the switch. It's very well done so it doesn't really detract from the overall appearance. Can someone identify the wheels? Also, the body mounts are unique looking, anybody know what they are for? Overall I'm very pleased with it. i just need to decide what body to put on it.

Re: Purple 10T
I bet it was one of these bodies.
There are a couple others that wouldnt fit in the pics, and 2 that my son was "fixing" that didn't make it. Life leson he learned that day: if a 15 year old plastic body has a dent it cant be fixed with a hammer

Thanks guys. Yeah, Joel, I bet one of those was on it. I'm thinking of going a little different direction. Looking at HPI bodies as a possibility.

WOW, thats one nice looking T. That anodizing looks flawless. I wonder how hard it would be to anodize like that at home...

They look scratch made and very well done. Kind of a cool idea to use plexiglass. Not the strongest, but that looks pretty robust. I think finding the lowest slung truck body would suit that nicely. Maybe like the one below. Not vintage, but maybe a nice match for that hot rod style 10T. Nice score!RedScampi wrote:Also, the body mounts are unique looking, anybody know what they are for? Re: Purple 10T
Thanks for all the input guys. The body mounts are indeed very well made. They're cut smoothly and I don't know if you can see from the pics but there is an extra brace going from the rear body mount vertically down to the tranny brace. It's secured with two very long screws tapped through it. Very sturdy. This will never be a runner as far as I'm concerned though. I like the purple hardware but I think I'll be replacing several of them with stainless or black anodized. I just think it needs contrast against the tub in somer places. I'll be tearing it down for a thorough cleaning anyway. I'm still torn on what to do about the body. I like your suggestion Willy, but I'm still thinking about it. Has anyone got a clue on what the rims are? I have a couple sets of See's that have a similar hole pattern but they're quite different over all.

Re: Purple 10T
I polished the rims a bit just to see and it makes a huge difference. This is quickly becoming a favorite - weird for me since i never was into the trucks that much. I am thinking a McCallister Dakota body might look good - if it will fit. White, silver and purple paint scheme sounds cool too.bearrickster wrote:That Truck is just to Cool, you better be careful I might come and steel this one.

The Dakota is cool, but if we're talking McCallister, I think this would look cool as hell on that rig. Street Rod style kinda
