New to Tamiya, Is this Fox a good Buy?

Post by metallicats33 »

Hi all, I've been looking to get a Tamiya buggy for some time and a guy on my friends street has this:
RC CAR.jpg
I know very little about Tamiyas, The guy says its missing the bumper, and front right wheel. He wants $30. Is that good? How much would it cost to get the parts that are missing? Thanks for any advice.

Wow! ok I will.
The pic is a bit deceiving though. I think a lot of screws are missing.

Already called him and told him not to put it on the Bay.
X5, Yes, grab that. It is a very cool car. I am sure some people in this forum can help find any parts you may need.

Yup, definitely grab that one. You'll find all the Tamiya parts that you are missing listed on Ebay fairly regularly (including bumper and screw bags). There are also a number of hop-ups for the Fox that come up on Ebay too - e.g. front and rear anti-roll bars, aluminium wings, stronger bumpers, etc. For USD30, it's a bargain and you wont have any problems bringing up to a RTR state....
