A Cougar in sheeps clothing

Post by 8rad »

Hello there,

Here are some pics of my new built Cougar 1. It started out as a normal Cougar build but took on a life of its own. It is made up mostly from NIP parts collected over time. All aluminium parts including the custom battery strap, rear shock brace and front strap have been sand blasted and alodined giving it that nice golden colour. The transmission is stock except for the black spur in place of the white and the hex rings in the differential. The car has full ball bearings in place of the stock bushings. Turnbuckles are the square style ones from newer buggies. All the shocks internals have been replaced with ultra shafts and new style 1 piece pistons. And it is topped with an original Cougar shell and wing. Enjoy

8RAD that Cougar looks tops. I like the tall front shocks on the original Cougar aswell. Can you still buy the JC Racing rims new somewhere?

Long travel is the only way to go! I dont think there are any performance advantages but it looks great! Very JRX-Pro! I read somewhere that CML Distribution still have some. I have not tried contacting them.
