Those Trans Am's were the best looking ones they ever made. I like them much better than the Bandit TA's

I don't know, that looks pretty ugly to me. It hardly does justice to the original. It just looks like a massive pile of plastic. The original was sleek and it's lines were sexy. This one, it looks like a deformed marshmallow, it looks like a brick. It's almost like someone did this to an old Trans Am:

Re: hoopty, your gonna like this..............
the problem with that is the nose is particular to the second gen camaro, so it just looks way out of place. the 69 nose was chrome.
if they did the retro thing to better mimic the 69, it would be fine.

Re: hoopty, your gonna like this..............
ive said it before, and ill say it again lol...
i wish these damn car manufacturers would take an original car, like a 57corvette, a 69 camaro, a 71mustang machI, a 57 chevy, a hemi cuda, etc etc.. and make a "new car" with somewhat original yet stylish interior, and make a exact replica body of the original.
I hate almost every restyled "new" car that comes out, its embarassing. ive owned 4 mustangs in the past 86-93 styles, i always loved mustangs.. i absolutely hate these new ones that come out.. with a fiery passion i hate them. i dont care what shelby or anyone else does to them stylewise, i think they are still ugly peices of crap not worth the money.
I mean look at the terrible failures out there... the new gto? (grand am chassis?, what a joke), the thunderbird? (i thought it was another huge joke, what a ugly body), the PT Cruiser? (do they even make them anymore? i remember a waiting list for people to get one)
The Manufacturers need to make the original cars exactly as they were, make them reasonably priced ($28-35 grand) and my feeling is they will sell a TON of them...
i have been driving a 2002 trans am ws6 new since i drove it off showroom floor in 2002. at the time, that was the ONLY car i thought looked stylish, was somewhat "true" to the original (stylish and unique looking), and fast!. 7 years later i am looking for a new car and havent found anything i would drop my cash on... nothing... i had high hopes for the new camaro, but i think the side profile looks like a chrysler 300m or something, just boxy and ugly.

i will say though, which i missed above, the one car i have been considering, that i think they kept true to the original looks and style, is the new dodge challenger... i would consider it

Re: hoopty, your gonna like this..............
gto was poorly named. should have been called the monaro, which is was based on, not a grand am. if you have never driven one, it's an awesome car, regardless of how it looks. It should have kept alot of the monaro cues (grille, etc).
for reference, Ea Rouge, I can't see your image,
69, first gen: 70, second gen, and what they attempted to copy:

Re: hoopty, your gonna like this..............
In my opinion the only retro car designs that actually looked good were the new Mini Cooper and the new Mustang. They stuck to the original themes and updated them in a way that looks good. The Mini Cooper I thought was especially successful. The Camaro is way, way, way too big. I don't care for any of the Chrysler retros either. I don't get this big-boxy design fad that's going on now. Everything looks like like a shoebox. I guess as the size of our citizens increases, so does the size of their cars.

its ok... i agree with others that its just too fat up front.
i was actually in vegas this weekend but unfortunately had to dedicate all my time to hanging out with clients at the pbr finals they had going on.
this version however, i like very much.
