I just came across this site. I don't remember a truck called the Terminator, but I see a lot of the Clodbuster in it. You think this may have been the truck that inspired Tamiya? I'm fairly confident that Rolling Thunder (also pictured on this page and one of my favorites from bitd) was the inspiration for Vanessa's Lunchbox. Discuss.
Except for the section behind the cab, the Terminator truck looks a lot like the Clodbuster, so it could be. This website makes the case for the original Sampson: http://www.tamiyabase.com/1to1scale/realcars.htm.
I definitely think Rolling Thunder was the inspiration for the Lunchbox; Tamiya should pay royalties for that one.
I love the 80s monster trucks. I went to quite a few monster truck shows and races when I was a kid .
Oh yeah, Samson 1 looks just like the Clod too. Terminator has that Bruiser mini camper thing on the back. The tinted windows and all white wheels are very Clod-like though. They've both got the blower through the hood and Samson has the tilt just like the lines carved in the Clod body, along with the roll bar. Probably some kind of crossing of several popular trucks from back then. I like the photos of Japanese Monster Truck magazine in the link I posted, something tells me one of the Tamiya designers had a copy of that on their desk back in the mid-80's.
I have a new McAllister truck body sitting on my JRXT and I am drawing a blank when it comes to paint
I need inspiration! Please post some good paint schemes up for me?

I know the feeling, wish I would have had more pics of my old rcs. Great looking clod though!
I have had a Clod that I got in a lot and recently got the parts together to get it going.I have a few questions.I have heard of people saying they need to retime one motor but when I look at it I seem to think the motors are running the same way.I...

The rear motor is reverse rotation.
If the motors have adjustable timing rotate the endbell 180 deg for the rear motor.
If the motors are at zero deg you can just reverse the polarity.
I usually run 17T or 19T motors, just depends how fast you want...
