I have some information on that Red/Pink and white RC500 if your interested? That was a car built for "Bill Bennett" the owner of Circus Hobbies here in Las Vegas. That car was displayed in the display case of the hobby shop and as far as I know it was only raced one race weekend at a race at the ranch pit shop sometime in 84 or 85 if I can remember correctly.
Future team losi driver Jack Johnson and I took the car out of the display case and raced it that weekend but we didn't have much luck with it since it was brand new and we didn't have much time to sort out some engine issues before the heats and main. After that weekend it was cleaned up and put back in the display case at Circus Hobbies.
I think the general manager ended up with it when he left the compnay and a year or so ago he took it to Nice Twice Hobbies to sell. It sat there for a while before you bought it.

It's a great car with very little time on it.
How's that a little history on an old car excellent...you've been around the hobby for awhile I'm guessing..older and wiser

it was offered as a kit and as a conversion. as far as how rare they are.. i cant tell you. but you dont see many rc500's up for sell often. the last 2 that were on ebay were both 2wd and went for over $200.

I was wondering what is the standard (US Measurement) Thickness of the RC10L Chassis, and does anyone know the type of Fiberglass used? I am trying to make a replica chassis with a few minor modifications.
Thanks-

Thanks, I will look out for some G10 /FR4 in that strength
As for the T-bar, they vary in thickness depending on what setup you want, and I was looking for the chassis itself. The composite craft T-bar could be a thin, or thick version.
Just found this RC500 4WD here. Who´s an expert on RC500 and could tell me what parts are missing beside the radio plate?
Also there are some aluminium parts what look like option parts to me. Someone knows what brand are the blocks for mounting...

Not familiar with those radio tray standoffs, not a very popular (well known) option imo. Nice to see you've joined the 1/8 4wd club. :)
First step into 1/8th again after more than 25 years. Next step will be a big brother for my Delta...

Hi All
Picked up a RC500 over the weekend!
This is one car that I have wanted but figured I would never get a hold of.
Funny how when your not looking for something. it falls in your lap.
I went to look at a King Hauler and low and behold a filthy...

Awesome. I have been lucky enough to build one RC500 from a kit I bought in the late 80's and to rebuild/restore one 500 in more recent years. These cars are so much fun on the workbench. I am jealous and maybe need to find another project car. Good...
Hello, I would like to know how the pro drivers get around the taper /cone tire issue as there was no camber adjustment, or where to shim, on the front and the rear suspensions.

Mine is upright.
Where can I get the offset bushing?
Thx.
Picked up another RC500, this one was a racer back in the day.
Looks like it is pretty well loaded up with options, been trying to find info on them, not a lot out there.
The guy I bought it from said his Dad was the builder and he had a guy...

An option not necessarily a hop-up is the Mini-mag wheels with GP tires. Nice!
