HPI E-Savage(pics added 3/31)
I was waiting for a Dominator to end yesterday, but I felt the reserve was going to be over my head so I was looking at monster trucks and found this E-Savage that looks real clean. A few little extras too which was a nice bonus. $230 shipped seemed like an ok deal to me. I've seen others cheaper, but they usually only come with one set of tires and look pretty whipped. Should finally satisfy my monster truck itch.

Re: HPI E-Savage
Bought it Sunday, got it yesterday. Gotta love that. The guy sent 6 motors and 4 batteries too. That was pretty cool of him. Both sets of tires are over 80%. He extended the chassis 2 inches and did a great job. The suspension is super plush. I won't even get to have any fun cleaning it because it's already real clean. I stuck it next to the pumpkin to give scale to the chassis extension. I didn't get it outside, but bench testing was 100% positive. It will probably be the weekend before I have time to try and break it. Not vintage, but it should be a lot of fun this winter.

Re: HPI E-Savage
Thanks all. This thing's a beast. A lot faster than I thought it would be. Runs a little over 20 minutes on two Maxamps 4000mah NIMH. That was a pleasant surprise too since it weighs about 16 pounds. Me and a buddy of mine ran the hell out of it during halftime Sunday. I'm no pro driver, but he's terrible so he wrecked the hell out of it. 0 damage. They are definitely as tough as their reputation. The brakes are a little touchy. You barely tap 'em and the thing flips.
Pulls wheelies fairly easily too. A blast to drive. If anyone is thinkin' of getting one to beat around you definitely need to get it comin'.

Re: HPI E-Savage
Painted up a new shell for this since the one it came with was butt ugly and made it look too much like a toy(which I guess it is). I’m not a fan of painted wheels, but the purple just didn’t cut it. I used high temp grill paint for a real flat black look(and because that’s what was lying around). This is definitely my funnest basher. It’s a beast and can take about anything. Nothing broken to date…
