That pic brings back a lot of memories. I had a gold pan with foams that I raced in the late 80's/early 90's at a skating rink in Mankato, MN. We had ozite carpet that we rolled out on Thursdays and set up road courses. It is funny looking back at those days, almost everyone raced converted off roaders. I guess it is just what we had for bashing so we just converted them over. I will have to post some race pics if I can find them.
During the winter we all converted our off-road buggies to be used on the roller skating rinks. I just found my oval chassis in one of my parts boxes. I will try and post a picture of the chassis and body, which has a HUGE wing!.
We used to run on the green outdoor carpeting at the local flea market as well as the roller skating rinks. The winter ovals were always fun to try and stretch your 1200mah pack to 4 minutes.
The preceding contained opinions, beliefs and thoughts that all may not agree with. No offense was intended at any point. Carry on.

those are cool we use to race in a high school gym. we used RTV on the tires to grip the floor they were fast and good grip but they said we polished the floor to much and made it slick, so they hicked us out. I wish I had some pics of my Jrx pro I raced but I rebuilt it yeas ago to race dirt.
This was my buddy's from back in the day. I found it and his Clod on Craigslist.

Nice score on the jrxt and clod.. they look like alot of fun to work on.. my suggestion is to do a build thread on the jrxt (clean up and rebuild) and go from there.. 1 you get to see what you have and need to replace if any and 2 it will build your...
Here's another one of my older cars. This was a truck I build specificaly for a local carpet oval track. The track managers were giving my buddy a hard time about running his truck (my old reflex 10). They said that it didn't qualify as...

hello All...
Thank you all for your kind words...
As for the construction of the chassis, I used a drill press for the holes. Everything else, cutting & shaping was with a dremel tool. A cutting wheel was used for the straight lines and the...
A local track that has very nice facilities and has only been racing capet oval is going to give offroad style capet for 1/10 buggies a chance. Looking for any input to transition from the typical indoor US clay tracks to carpet.

Grip rolling both front and rear is a real issue. Any drag brake at all causes a problem. I've also found keeping the rear tires spinning good over jumps keeps from traction rolling the rear when the tires come back into contact with the carpet....
This is the where it all got started with my RC10 passion.
This vehicle is intended to be raced on our carpet track here in Germany. I only take it a couple of times a year out to the track, to keep it in one piece.
Its brushless powered and the...

Here's my LX-T that I raced on carpet ovals as a kid. It's close to how it was back then, except for the .36 shocks and yellow motor plate.
I ran A&L Roadkill & BTS Liberator, Dahm's Ruff- E-Nuff SE and Andy's Lo Profile bodies. I had Trinity...
