RC10B2 RUNNERS by Slotcarrod
Re: RC10B2 RUNNER BUILD
That is a great paint job! Keep runnin' it hard , I know I do mine!
I still say that the B2/B3 buggies are the best (in many areas) buggies produced by Team Associated to date. Not knocking the B4 as I own a few but the B2/B3 will surely keep up with it .

Re: RC10B2 RUNNER BUILD
Thanks, I wish I had it with me when I went to Spokane a few weeks ago. I got second in mod running my Gold Pan. If I had the B2, I know I would have won!Daddeo wrote:That is a great paint job! Keep runnin' it hard , I know I do mine!

A picture of the lead placement under the bulkhead. You take two 1/4 oz lead weights (for balancing auto wheels), stick them together and shave the sides with a sharp knife so it fits snug inside the front bulkhead. This helps with turn in and it keeps the light front end down a bit better.

I forgot to mention, I changed to black springs in the front and green in the rear. I am thinking of going a little softer in the oil (20?) and black rear, brown front springs, as I am under ROAR legal weight, way under!

Re: RC10B2 RUNNER BUILD
No worries Rod, I got broad shoulders The paint looks good, just like the rest of your runners now.slotcarrod wrote: Anthony (Vintage AE).... You can piss off! LOL jk! As you can tell, you are not the only one to bust carbon fiber! (Just to let the guys know, Anthony busted the carbon side plate on my crawler, I'm not mad and it's all good but now I get to tease him for the rest of his life! )
You better have one of those Losi comp crawlers put aside for me for next week or the one after. I'm getting some goodies to go along with it too, not everything probably, but some stuff. I'm going racing for my first time on Friday too...so excitted.
enough about me, this car rocks!

Re: RC10B2 RUNNER BUILD
Looking forward to seeing you!
When you race, keep it smooth and watch the fast guys lines. They will almost look slow but they are turning the fast lap times. Copy them! Good luck at the race and see you soon! Get some pics of the race!

Re: RC10B2 RUNNER BUILD
You all know from reading my posts that my carbon fiber tower was busted by a HPI Savage crashing into me!
Trumpets please!
I found 2 in Vegas, one was 1/2 price!

Re: RC10B2 RUNNER BUILD
I love my B2, it is on the shelf now but it was the last new car I bought and raced.
The only problem I am having is finding a B2 body so I have a B3 for now.

Re: RC10B2 RUNNER BUILD
The standard (non Factory Team or Sport) B3 body looks very much the same as the B2 body. To the untrained eye they are the same. The mid to rear section (just in front of the rear shocks) is a little wider on the B2 body. That section looks much like the RCPS Turbo Mirage.m_vice wrote:I love my B2, it is on the shelf now but it was the last new car I bought and raced.

The bodies shown on my runner B2's are B3 bodies. They look the part!

Re: RC10B2 RUNNER BUILD
Sorry to resurrect this older thread (great build btw), but I'm wondering what the wheelbase is on the short version B2? I could not find this information anywhere.
Thanks,
Steve

Re: RC10B2 RUNNER BUILD
Great build, awesome paint--job, I love a good runner/basher - that's what R/C is all about!
((Thanks for resurrecting the thread, pastimesteve.))
B3/T3/TC3 are the newest Associated models I own, last of the Gene Husting designed models, right?
BTW - What distinguishes a B2 front top plate from a B3???

Rod explained about the differences on page one
B3 top plate #9130
B3 top plate #9130
slotcarrod wrote:Some things to look for on a true B2 on the front end
1 ) Two holes on the front shock tower (B3 has 3)
2 ) Shorter front arms with 2 shock mounts and no balls for sway bar
3 ) Old type caster blocks
4 ) 10T/Worlds type spindles and axles
5 ) No sway bar holes or braces on top deck
6 ) No curves on servo mounts (not shown)
7 ) White servo arms (not shown)
8 ) Aluminium shock caps early, plastic late
9 ) Clamping shock collars

Re: RC10B2 RUNNER BUILD
I will measure it for you tonight! If memory serves, it's about a 1/4 inch shorter but I will confirm that later.pastimesteve wrote:Sorry to resurrect this older thread (great build btw), but I'm wondering what the wheelbase is on the short version B2? I could not find this information anywhere.
