ya, the manual probably was printed in 94. in the jan 95 rcca, there's a "new for 95" section, and in there is the pro x. take that however you want.tecnica2001 wrote:I was looking at a Kyosho Pro X manual, and the copyright was 1994....would it qualify??

Re: 2010 -- VONATs -- Class Entry Discussion
I'm looking through my July 94 issue of RCCA and I can't find a single Kyosho electric buggy in any Kyosho advertisement or Hobby shop ad. Nothing. Seems like there was a big nitro push going on at the time. I don't remember a Kyosho Pro X.
I think a good rule that should be considered for future vintage races is if you can find it in an ad from the cut off year, you can race it. Then we'd know it was available for sure.

Soncho, I love your enthusiasm and I'm in a good mood fueled by a great painting session tonight and a few celebratory brewskies, so I'll save you my tirade.Soncho Ponza wrote:Early Edinger RC10s----the talk on the diff types goes on and on Iv seen some great examples of early early versions from the brothers here....iv got a couple very early girls i havnt rebuilt....fun to build one into a racer and use it where nut cases like us might appreciate one.

I know what people mean by Edinger, I was just poking fun. I'm a bit of a non-believer in the label, that's all.

Did I push the wrong button here or something?? I'm not trying to get on anyone's bad side here, I apologize if any of my comments rubbed you the wrong way, I just thought that the Pro X was released before the XX.scr8p wrote:ya, the manual probably was printed in 94. in the jan 95 rcca, there's a "new for 95" section, and in there is the pro x. take that however you want.tecnica2001 wrote:I was looking at a Kyosho Pro X manual, and the copyright was 1994....would it qualify??

Sorry...

Like I've said before, I started really looking at R/C car racing at around 1995, before that, I only played around with my Blackfoot, Striker and Super Hornet, I wasn't even aware of a whole racing world out there till 1995, so I'm still, till this day, learning...

Life is like a box of chocolate, you never know what R/C car you're gonna get next!!!

No worries Bro...
The Kyosho Triumph looks pretty sweet also, but if all else fails, I would go with the Ultima Pro.
I wouldn't mind going all Kyosho in 2010 at the VONATs.

Re: 2010 -- VONATs -- Class Entry Discussion
I think the Hawk is another borderline truck. I'd say it's competition is the JrT and early RC10 conversions. Maybe a slight step down, but definitely a more serious race machine than say a Blackfoot. Lot of grey areas with these cars.

Re: 2010 -- VONATs -- Class Entry Discussion
Same thought here. The Hawk is the same chassis as the Rad2- which I ran in 2wd buggy. I would say that any buggy chassis converted in a similar fashion would be stadium truck.
Just my thoughts-- Freddie, you can school 'em with a Hawk.

The preceding contained opinions, beliefs and thoughts that all may not agree with. No offense was intended at any point. Carry on.

Re: 2010 -- VONATs -- Class Entry Discussion
There's lots of nice looking rigs out there, tempting me to buy them...
What's on the Menu:
MRC MT-10M -- Grey Area
Kyosho Tracker -- Grey Area
Traxxas Hawk -- Grey Area
Hot Trick Blackfoot -- Gray Area too???
Sassy Chassied Blackfoot ???
Man, they had one of those are RCHR last year, they looked good also...
Just throwing some stuff out there for discussion and for the imagination...

Re: 2010 -- VONATs -- Class Entry Discussion
I'd say a Blackfoot in any form is Monster Truck class material. Just like how a Frog is not going to be in 2wd buggy class.
I think a Sledgehammer in MT would be cool to see. Or a Double Dare or that USA-1 that was for sale. It would be easy to do a Mud Blaster too now that you can get the re-release Brat body in lexan and hard plastic.
