I rebuilt my custom RC10 - w/body
This is a project I did some years back, I call it my RC10X-01
(Original thread- http://www.rc10talk.com/viewtopic.php?f=35&t=1223&start=15) and took it apart to put together a runner.
Today I rebuilt it with some new parts.
Custom parts :
- chassis
- shock towers
- rear tranny brace and motor guard.
Other part:
- RPM arms
- RC10GT rear bulkhead
- B3 steering
- B4 front hubs and steering axles
I am working on a new battery brace that will work as a chassis brace.
I made a small front and rear bumpers in case this car races any time in the future to protect the turn marshals. But it would be fun to run like this for bashing, the chassis is 1/8” aluminum and is solid and surprisingly not as heavy as I thought it would be (still heavier than a standard Tub).
Better pics soon.

Re: I rebuilt my custom RC10
That chassis has to have a bit of flex to it even with a battery brace, no? I would think you'd have to go from rear shock tower to front shock tower at least.

I like it too. Let us see the chassis stiffeners when you are done.

Re: I rebuilt my custom RC10
It really doesn’t flex that much more than a graphite chassis. I was thinking it would but it doesn’t really.
I will work on the brace soon but I am designing a new chassis with a RC10T front, to use wider arms. And I will do some custom towers for it.
Thanks for the comments, I will post new pics soon.

Re: I rebuilt my custom RC10
how thick is the chassis plate? Could you strengthen it by simple doing dimples- you know the kind that flare? That's if you need to- it looks like your saying it's not a big deal, right?

It is a 1/8” think, I think it is alloy 5052 Aluminum. Believe me it is solid, not a lot of flex at all. It was a pain to bend the nose.
When I am done I will post a video to show the flex. If we have some sun in Dallas tomorrow I will take some pictures.

Re: I rebuilt my custom RC10
Ok, I decided to use an old RC10T2 brace I had. It works very well and it keeps the battery in place and adds rigidness to the rear half of the car.
Plus I like the logo on it.

Ok, finely finish adapting the body to this car. It will stay clear for now until it is time to ride.

I was going to say, if I am marshaling a race you are in, I'm waiting until your car comes to a stop before I get it; no catching-and-release here LOL
