MX-4 with a couple personal touches

Not ready yet, but decided to put up a couple pics to show where it's heading:

I like the original shocks, but these asso shocks I got in a trade seemed equally good, if not better, AND the blue body goes well with the other blue parts already installed.
The shocktowers, bumper and front top gearcase-half are all MR4BC parts: I now have the rear tower from the MX4 too but I kind of like the look of this over the graphite. (Read: I'm too lazy to build it back now I have the missing part and am looking for an excuse to leave it as is.)

I wanted to use stick packs and make the weight sit better centered and balanced. So:
- I moved the battery position: moved it further forward and a bit more inward using posts and a battery plate from an old YR-4II.
- I swapped the servo over to the other side to take weight from the right and add it to the left
- I chose a low-profile servo and put it lengthwise, close to the center line; using the servos saver from the mr4-bc.
- the ESC and receiver are on the same side as the servo and again as close as possible to the centerline

Other things I changed: replaced the front ball dif by the MR4-TC optional one-way front diff, used MR4 BC front universals, used Tamiya dogbones and mr4bc axles on the rear and replaced the rear hubs for the heavy duty units with larger bearings.

Looking good Mr Ed, I like the idea of using the mr4bx towers I have the parts so I might try it out before I give the Mx a run out. I am also thinking of getting a one piece topdeck, however looking at the height of the support pillers looks like i would need to space them in some way.

With regard to the shocks, the rears are 1.32 but what are the fronts?

sorry, no idea. I think they are original T3 shocks.
The fronts are a little too long: the drive axle interfears with the C-arrier under full droop.
That's one of the things I still need to address before giving it a go at the track.

I think MX4 is one of my favourite buggies so far........the chassis is so "adaptable" that you can use whatever type of batteries you like........3+3......4+2........6 cells stick-pad.........

looks good, have a billion mx4 parts myself, havent touched it since about the year 2000 though lol.

is the body going to fit with the servo saver sticking out that far. with it mounted sideways. i always cut off the servo horns and shoe-gooed it down, i think thats what literally everyone did back then with this car.

the body will need a bit of trimming where the servo link passes through. A little price for having the servo sit on the left side and nice and close to the center-line. I won't trim the original body though: probably going to use the baldre body again.
