fresh bodies and paint for my YZ-10s
I painted 4 bodies this week: 1 for my lazer and 3 for my YZ-10s.
The first one in line was one of Mrlexan's repops for the 870C. Unfortunately it didn't go all that well: I played araound with the masking and cans to get transition effects, but, well, I shouldn't have I guess. This is the messy result: A couple days later I wanted to try better, and did the lazer, woohoo, succes.
Pics are here
This gave me courage to do another YZ-10 body: I picked one of 2 Fastrax bodies and tried to improve the Martini theme that worked so well for my ghostrider. (Pics are here)
Not a 100% happy with the outcome here, but learned another No-No again.
Comparing the ghost-rider and the above I felt I could do a better Martini for my YZ-10 and the last 870C left would be a better body to suit the theme. So, with the last end of masking tape and last drip of white paint I made this:
Definitely a great improvement, with only a minor disappointment on the red coming out too dark.
2.5/4 not the best score, but I had fun and am glad I finally started painting some of that clear lexan I seemed to start collecting.

Nice work. What equipment did you use to paint them?
If you don't mind me asking, how much did you score them for.?

Pactra spray cans and window masking tape.
They all came at very reasonable prices; mrlexan sells his at a fixed price and the fastrax came from ebay-uk. With a lot of 15 orso fastrax's turning available over 3 auctions the price didn't get jacked up wildly.

Very nice to see some of your hard work going into some very cool Yokomo buggies. Nice one Eric-

it's getting close to 50/50 on the kyosho/yokomo balance in my stable.
Unfortunately I can't show much yet as most are in a 90% finished state, and you know what they say: 90% of work gets done in 10% of the time, the other 90% is for finishing the last 10% of work
