LXT Build and help with set ups

Post by JK Racing »

Okay...going through my box of LXT parts, picking and choosing my plan of attack for build and set up.

Rear hinge pin support...for some unknown reason, I am remembering that the #4 pivot was the best for racing...not the #1. It appears to have the same toe-in setting, but more anti-squat.

Somebody in the know help me remember...and if you have a full set up from BITD, please pass it along. I dont remember shock/turnbuckle settings at all....but I do remember 56 pistons, 35 wgt front 30 wgt rear pink springs on all 4.

Got an LXT of ebay, in really good shape, and I have 2 more on the way, one is just parts, and the other is ready to run, just need to pick both of them up.

So, problem being, what to do for bodies....well, the one off ebay had a trimmed and mounted XXTCR body, fits really well, so my mind got to spinning...did the LHS have an older XXT body (aftermarket) when I dug through their stuff about 6 months ago...???

So, after about 10 minutes of digging...I found it...Andy's SODA Dodge Ram XXT body, NIP. $20 well spent.

I will get some build up and body photos by next weekend (crossing fingers).

No, I didnt bid on it, but I see it went to dirt cheap (compared to others I have seen)....

When it rains it pours, LXTs were falling off trees once I said I wanted one...

I will have 3 ready to roll, and minus shocks - a fourth...and 3 bodies, the stock LXT, XXTCR, and the Andy's Ram.

I only plan on making one a runner, but the other will be runner class, not shelfers.

Looks great!! what do you run in your Lx-T? I ran a LRP 10.5 and it ran great with the XX retro fit trans. side by side with T4's but it was a little faster in the drag down the front strech against a T4 with a 5700 Mamba. I shouldnt have sold it :?

I am planning on running it with Stock truck (27T/17.5 brushless). I have the buggy XX retrofit tranny in both trucks (mine and my buddies pictured above). He is running a composite craft double decker chassis, I will be running the stock LXT/SE chassis. I may make my debut run here soon.

I am going to get to messing with the vinyl cutter and make some Orange LXT decals for the sides and wing. I think it came out pretty nice. Since I am short brushless speedo's right now, it will get a Cyclone and a 27T motor next time I have some spare time. Already have the velcro set up to steal my Spektrum receiver and drop in there as needed.
