fresh body and paint for my lazer
I painted 4 bodies this week: 1 for my lazer and 3 for my YZ-10's
The Lazer was the second one to get done, and kind of spoiling the first YZ-10 body a couple days before...I went with something easy & straightforward. Glad Id id because I really like how it came out.
The body is a Parma Tomcat and was done with candy blue, pearl white and sprint white, all Pactra.
The masking tape is for masking windows (glass). I had 2 of thede from different brands and the thinner quality one was defintely working the best for me: the thick one didn't stick so well and peeled off from underlying layers of the same tape, left glue traces and because of the extra thicknes didn't let itself apply as easily in curved areas.
Otherwise I can definitely advise this tape over classic masking tape: cheap , cleaner edges and smoother.
For the stickers I dugg deep in my boxes and selected only RC material: wanted this to look like a ture RC racer, not a scale model. With this body style that just seemed the right way to go.

Gee! that's cool!
Is the Parma Tomcat still available in the market? Plan to buy some extra lids for my Lazers!

Re: fresh body and paint for my lazer
no longer available, sorry
I asked Parma if they could still supply the bellypan, but got a 'no' on that also.
Luckily I still had a descent original bellypan and the fit is ok (maybe will need to use some foam to fill some gaps).

Good job ED
Tomcat body was very rare in East Asia and the wanted body for me.
As far as I know, this is for Optima mid orignally do you have any underbody for this?
This has knocked down to somebody for $37 on E-bay last week.

Re: fresh body and paint for my lazer
I got it from Hongkong:minimini had a couple
There's a scan of the parma catalog in the scan section. I could swear it says lazer under the tomcat picture, not optima mid, but maybe I remember wrong. the underbody of the lazer is an acceptable fit. I'm not sure Parma ever even made an undrbody for it.
(there's a matching wing, but I forgot to paint it)
And thankyou

Re: fresh body and paint for my lazer
still have to fit both together on the car, but just from mid-air trials I think they were made to work with the undertray of the original lazer body: not Z ZX ZXR , but I'm no pro ondistinguishing these
