2009 VINTAGE OFFROAD NATIONALS OFFICIAL THREAD• SEPT 18-20TH
Re: 2009 VINTAGE OFFROAD NATIONALS OFFICIAL THREAD• SEPT 18-20TH
Why not just put it on rcsignup.com?
It's free to put there and if you want to prepay I'm sure the track could take your card over the phone. Thats how we do the larger races out here.

Re: 2009 VINTAGE OFFROAD NATIONALS OFFICIAL THREAD• SEPT 18-20TH
Most large events have a sign up process so the event organizer knows how many people are attending so they can order t-shirts and plan the weekend. No Big deal. I just dont want to fly in for a club race. I like all you guys but I can have a club race here in AZ and be back home in about an hour. I guess ther is no wat to voice this without sound like I am complanining about someone or something. I really just want it to be a huge turnout and success. Bill C.
Have a nice day!

Re: 2009 VINTAGE OFFROAD NATIONALS OFFICIAL THREAD• SEPT 18-20TH
I previously asked about the Tamiya Bear Hawk, would the Blitzer Beetle be considered a Truck or Classics Class buggy??
My options, buy a new Tamiya Stadium Thunder, source a Bearhawk body and buggy wheels and run it.
Or I can just buy a used Blitzer Beetle and run that in classics class.
By the way, I've always like the Blitzer Beetle, never got a chance of owning one, the VONATs would be a good excuse to buy one....
It was released in 1993

Those would probably fall more into classic (trying to remember exactly what they looked like). Heavy Metal was more of a "monster truck" class with a few exceptions like the King Cab, etc.

These are the Blitzer Beetle, which are the same as the Bear Hawk, Stadium Thunder and Stadium Blitzer.
With the exception of the wheels, tires and body.

Yo Erich. Just wondering where I may fall with a Kyosho Shadow? I was hoping for Classic, if not, I'll try to grab up an Optima for 4wd. Thanks dude.
Can't wait to see ya'll in 2 months!

Is that based off of the Falcon chassis? Or a newer design?tecnica2001 wrote:

Since it is a 4wd car, I would imagine it would go in 4wd class. Don't worry, I think there will be a few hotshots there to compete with her!Dieselpower wrote:Yo Erich. Re: 2009 VINTAGE OFFROAD NATIONALS OFFICIAL THREAD• SEPT 18-20TH
Erich did run his 4wd in Classic last year. I think where Hotshots, Optimas, Samurais, etc should go may have to be reconsidered-- maybe a "Classic 4wd class" if there's enough classic entries.
My reasoning: I ran my Hotshot in 4wd and would have finished 2nd behind Brandon's Frog if I had run in Classic. If there are more 93 Yokes this year, the old Tamiyas and Kyoshos won't stand a chance in 4wd. Again, my 2 cents and no one has to listen.

Erich ran his 4wd in classic so we would have 4 in the class to run.
Yes, if there are a lot of the 4wd's closer to the 94 era, the older ones would be out classed. But that will happen in just about every class available, too.
(You still kicked butt with your Hotshot last year, Jeff!)

Plus the smoke shows were the highlight of the weekend!bngiles wrote:Erich ran his 4wd in classic so we would have 4 in the class to run.

Thanks Brandon- I'll be trying again this year and most likely with better shocks and decent tires (not dirt hawgs)!

According to Tamiyaclub.com, the Bearhawk, Blitzer Beetle, Stadium Blitzer, Stadium Thunder are all based off the falcon chassis, with a difference in Bodies, tires and wheels.bngiles wrote:Is that based off of the Falcon chassis? Or a newer design?tecnica2001 wrote:

I'm trying to lock in a Bearhawk, which was released in 91, and run it with the Beetle Body...
