It's Snow Time

Post by tizeye »

We had our first dump of snow for the Winter this morning so as per usual when it snows here I was woken by the sound of a car hitting something. There was mayhem outside, within 10 minutes there were 7 crashes...4 of them involving the same car that was parked but just kept getting hit....anyway within a few hours there had been 14 seperate accidents on the road we live on. The problem is that because it only snows here a few times a year people tend to forget how dangerous ice and snow can be. The design of the road is also a major cause because the camber of the road slopes the wrong way so people just lose it as soon as they come into top of the road...it's as funny as hell to watch as long as nobody gets hurt but there were a lot of silly looking people standing around.
In the picture you can see all of the cars at the top of the road on weird angles...I've got movie footage that i will put on youtube...

I guess so..the difference to us here and you guys over there is that when it snows you guys are prepared and have everthing ready...but because it only snows a few times a year people here just jump in their cars and head off to work without even thinking about what might happen...most people don't even own chains..crazy..

I wouldn't say that we are better over here. Everyone hear has a big suv or truck and thinks they are invincible. That is until they crash

This was winter 08/09 here in Oregon. We had over 4 ft in some places. Greatest thing was that my fwd civic on studded tires did better than some SUVs I saw.

Hey momo, when we had that storm I saw on a moped trying to get around in it. His tailight was completely covered in snow and he almost got nailed by an escalade that didn't see him til the last minute. And yes it was at night. Were you one of the people that was helped when the national guard was called out?

You need to record these crashes on video and put em on youtube!
Would be chaos if it ever snowed in Sydney, most of the idiots on the road can't even handle it when it rains.
